In the latest GigaVUE® 5.12 software release, which was generally available as of April 20, 2021, Gigamon brings new innovations in hardware and software to the Gigamon Hawk cloud visibility and analytics fabric (VAF).

With the increase in sophisticated attacks and transformation of networks, these new innovations provide enhanced security, higher bandwidth, and more flexibility, extending into the private and public clouds.

Breakdown of the Top Innovations:

  1. Support for a new software-centric business model allows users to license the product software on either a perpetual or subscription basis, whether it is the base hardware with software, software add-ons, or software applications
  2. Traffic access and forwarding enhancements offers more secure tapping of 100G
  3. Extended service chaining of GigaSMART® applications improves the utilization and ROI of the GigaVUE HC Series products and simplifies the configuration of chained applications
  4. SSL/TLS decryption support for Resilient Inline Arrangements (RIA) allows resilient/redundant support for inline tools along with decryption of SSL/TLS traffic and expands high availability inline tool-deployment scenarios
  5. AWS cloud visibility integration extensions improves GigaVUE V Series efficiency by leveraging existing load balancer infrastructure, adds flexibility with multiple orchestration options, and further simplifies and accelerates deployment of a dynamic visibility fabric with expanded resiliency and system uptime
  6. Fabric visualization extensions improves ability to plan capacity of the visibility infrastructure, perform diagnosis of configuration issues, and troubleshoot traffic forwarding anomalies

This update also includes many other innovations within the base GigaVUE-OS software, GigaSMART applications, fabric management, and Cloud Suite.
