Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook, Oh My!

I am often filled with wonder most days in Cambridge, as I see the latest technology and meet super smart entrepreneurs. But summer brings out a time of reflection for me. As I reflect over the past couple of years, it’s social media that makes me wonder: Is this the best way to connect with the world?

I am often filled with wonder most days in Cambridge, as I see the latest technology and meet super smart entrepreneurs. But summer brings out a time of reflection for me. As I reflect over the past couple of years, it’s social media that makes me wonder: Is this the best way to connect with the world?

We have had some LP prospects arrive via our social media work — that is good. We have had lots of new followers connect with Vestigo Ventures on various social media platforms — that is good. We have found a wonderful tool to make it all easier called Grapevine6 — that is good, too.

But finding interesting content can be a full time job. The first few months were brutal. Then I got organized and built a vision for topics that our audience would find interesting. Plus, Grapevine6 gives me suggestions on my targeted areas. Now I am cruising along, with content readily at my fingertips.

The next challenge, mainly created by Twitter, is the dreaded # and @. I used to think of these symbols as ways to express frustration with discretion.

You know what I mean. Say I was trying to park in the Binny Street in Cambridge heading to a fun filled day at Vestigo. Another car pulls in ahead of me and, “#@!&,” they take the parking spot I had eyed. Now I know it’s all about keywords on social media to connect with users. Suddenly, # and @ are my friends in that quest.

So give us a follow or even a blessed retweet by checking us out on Twitter @VestigoVentures, LinkedIn at Vestigo Ventures or Facebook at Vestigo Ventures.
